A US President whose party devastatingly lost the recent US election is enjoying his US trip. People in US are anxious to see their economy recover. From Indian point of view, it is great to have a good relation with US but the reality is much more serious and sinister.
India's biggest threat is the nexus between Pakistan and China and the possibilities of a joint war between India on one side and Pakistan and China on the other. That is why Indian PM Manmohan Singh plans to talk one-0n-0ne with US President Obama.
But the reality is much more serious. India faces hyperinflation from commodity price rise. India's biggest problem is Pakistani ISI that US military just could not control. India problem is Kashmir. India and Obama just does not talk about it.
President Obama is enjoying his India trip. But problems remain in Kashmir, in Pakistani ISI terror elements that American military cannot handle. In the mean time India's political leadership in charge are not easy on Hindutva. How does Obama address the real issues? Indian upper class looks for outsourcing dollars from America. American political leadership wants those dollars back by selling equipments to India. In the mean time Indian congress party, the current leadership in charge is busy trying to dampen the spirits of Hindutva - the ethos of Indian nationalism.
As Pakistanis realize that their best friend is not the terrorists and ISI rogue elements, Indian nationalists are realizing that there is little gain in fighting the Muslims across the western border.
The matter become even more complex when you realize that Bush and Obama like India because India can be used a as a controlling stick against Islamic terrorism and Chinese aggressive military agenda in Asia.
So where does India stand? That is a question that is unanswered in Obama visit. Indian na6tionalists watch America from a great distance as Manmohan Singh and Obama fire the balloons of friendship, trade, and even defense cooperation.
The little Muslim boy in Srinagar who sits in the dark corner under curfew sheds his tear. The Hindu Pundit whose wife was beaten to death by Kashmiri Islamists at the insistence of the Pakistani intelligence ISI in Kashmir has lost all his hopes of a fair trial and justice. The poor farmers in Indian farm who is about to commit suicide see the New Delhi ecstasy and Granger in 'shock and awe.'' The Indian jawan who left his family in Bihar to serve in the highest battle field of the world (Siachen)looks on. In the mean time the griddy outsourcing call center owners keep counting on Obama visit for easy money to continue coming in from America. American greedy fortune 500 companies and their executive count on Obama to bring them Indian market so they can hide their domestic business inefficiencies. The matter is very complicated. It is complicated because of just one reason - neither Obama or Manmohan Singh represent their real nation. American main stream has voiced their disapproval of Obama. Indian mainstream nationalists have been shut up for some time with influx foreign money. The matter is really complicated.
