The full-marathon of over 40-km distance will start from Uma Kanta Maidan in the morning.
For the first time the meet was opened for competitors around the globe after four editions were restricted to local athletes only to spur interest among the home-built runners.
The theme of the marathon time is ''Run for State Run for Unity,'' as the baton named after Tripura Governor D Y Patil, moved around the villages of Bangladesh after its Sports Minister received it on behalf of Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina Wazed.
The baton would be handed over to India's former hockey captain Ashok Kumar, son of Dyanchand, who will preside the marathon amids presence of many sporting personalies and ministers.
The organisers said though a bit of visa problem had with the Bangladesh participants, but it is believed they would arrive well in time to take part in the run.
The winners will receive Rs 60,000 each as first prize.
